Salons have been scrambling to find safe alternatives to
Brazilian Blowout since it
proved too good to be true.
Aveda has its answer. The Blaine-based
beauty company has created a
formaldehyde-free salon treatment with tourmaline that promises to
smooth hair for up to two months—even natural waves and curls. Aveda salons will begin offering
Smooth Infusion Texture Smoother on Nov. 21. The service (more potent than the Smooth Infusion take-home products already on shelves) is said to cut blow-dry time and keep hair sleek even in high humidity. And for that, you can expect to pay around $150.
