At OPM we see similar trends. I tell shoppers if they like something, try the large on and don't pay attention to the little tag inside. All designers have a slight variation in sizing, cut and fit so why pass up a designer you like because they run small and you have to size up? People will compliment you on a great outfit if it fits, not based on the tag.
