Sad shopper Mike asks: "Ali, Has Lava Lounge closed? I'm hoping they have just moved, but the store was boarded up today. What do you know?" Well, Mike, I know that Lava Lounge lasted much longer than most. I know that we must support our innovative, out-there boutiques or they won't last as long as Lava did. Meanwhile, support our independent boutiques and hope there is another bold, funky, edgy, weird, hip, warm, savvy retailer waiting in the wings to take a chance and dazzle the Twin Cities.

Ah, the Lava. So many people are disappointed when an indie boutique closes and the question that comes to mind is: when was the last time you shopped there? We cannot expect these shops to survive if we don't support them (monetarily).

This is so sad. I shopped there regularly over the last ten years.
Their price points were all over the gamut, but that was what was so great. Whether a college student or yuptowner, one could always find something to satiate. I shopped there all the time. Sad to see it go.
