Vsshapewear The secret is out: Victoria's Secret is introducing a collection of shape wear called Secret. It hits stores Thursday. Shape wear from VS is so obvious and yet so tricky: to admit that a VS girl needs any amount of sucking in puts the cellulite-free fantasy franchise at risk. But leave it to Victoria's: they've found a way to make girdles sexy. There's the "Cheek-a-Boo" mini skirt with thong (trying to imagine walking in that) and the "You're Busted" push-up cami. Sassy. Reassuring to know that even angels can use some smoothing and smushing. Yet somehow I can't help but feel that the high waist shaper brief is going to make me feel that much less like a supermodel.

And VS continues its campaign of repressing the female body. Who says every inch of flesh on the adult woman must be contained in spandex (or lace) to be considered beautiful? Who says we should submit to being pinched in by “shapeware,” pushed up by Wonderbras, and have our buttocks reamed by thongs? I wore a girdle in junior high in the 60s and thought we had moved beyond controlling women with clothing. Now we’re back to corsets, bustiers, pencil skirts, and – creepiest of all – fetish stilettos, the modern version of Chinese foot binding. I, for one, won’t be manipulated by the “fashion” industry. Sorry you are, but you wouldn’t have a blog without it, would you?

Ack…well I know that VS is all about sexy and whatnot, but since they have very little knowledge about how bras and underwear in general are supposed to fit real women, I doubt their shapeware will work either.
There’s no such thing as effective shapeware unless you already are stick thin and don’t need it at all, except to shave off one more single digit size.

I love VS!! I love their bras! they are the only bras i buy now! The quality is excellent for the price and the bras keep their shape. Especially the ones with the memory foam in them….sooooo comfortable! A while back VS had a line of sports bras. they worked very well ( and im a 36D and a woman WITH curves) , but for some reason they no longer sell them. I am definitely going to try the shape wear! Im very excited about this!
